In the summer of 2023 ten of the twelve existing WOAA Senior Hockey teams voted to leave the WOAA and form a new league under the umbrella of the Ontario Hockey Association. Unfortunately this spelt the end to the WOAA Senior Hockey League after being in existence since 1943.
