WOAA Minor Hockey Committee has New Chairperson
The WOAA is pleased to announce that Paul Sebastian has been named the new Chairperson of the WOAA Minor Hockey Committee.
He will also sit as the WOAA REM on the OMHA. Paul is no stranger with the committee as he has held various positions over the last number of years including Vice Chair, convenor for Bantam and Midget, and has sat on several subcommittees for Minor Hockey.
Paul will be taking the reins from long standing Chairperson Dave Garinger who announced recently that he would be stepping down from the position. Dave has been a mainstay in the WOAA as well as the OMHA for the last 20 years. He will remain on the WOAA Minor Hockey Committee as a "convenor at large" and will act as a valuable resource for the Committee. Thank You Dave for your unrelenting service and mentorship to the WOAA.
The committee has held several meetings over the summer as we are hopeful for a more "normal" upcoming minor hockey season. Local minor hockey associations have been busy taking in registrations and also continue plans for the new season. We thank all those involved last season that did their best to provide some type of normalcy for the "hockey starved" players. There were so many unknowns with COVID and the resulting continual changing of rules and requirements to keep everyone safe.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements for organization and schedule meetings.
